Official Choctaw County Inmate Search
The official local starting point is the Choctaw County Sheriff's Office inmate search. The sheriff's roster is public, free to view, and described by the site as updated hourly. When inspected on June 25, 2026, it showed a current-custody count and listed inmates by booking date, with linked names that opened individual booking profiles.
The roster is a county jail record, not an all-purpose offender database. It covers people currently held at the Choctaw County Jail, including local arrestees, pretrial detainees, sentenced county inmates, and people accepted for local custody by the sheriff. It does not reliably track released people, sentenced state prisoners after transfer to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, federal sentenced prisoners, or immigration detainees.
The sheriff site does not post a verified released-inmate retention period. Treat the roster as a current-in-custody lookup. If a person was released, transferred, sentenced, or held under a federal or immigration authority, use the fallback chain later on this page instead of assuming the booking never occurred.
The manifest image for the official roster comes from the sheriff's inmate search page.
The screenshot shows why the roster should be used first for current Choctaw County Jail custody, while the VINE notice should be used when a person needs ongoing status notifications.
Use the Jail Roster
Start with the spelling most likely used during booking. The Choctaw County roster provides a name-search field and also allows a user to clear the search to see all current inmates. The sheriff's page did not publish wildcard rules, a minimum character count, a booking-number search, a release-status tab, or a facility dropdown during research.
- Open the Choctaw County inmate search page.
- Read the VINE notice if the purpose is custody alerts instead of a one-time roster check.
- Use the Search by Name field for a specific person, trying part or all of the name if needed.
- Clear the search if no result appears, then scan the current roster sorted by booking date.
- Click the linked inmate name to open the public booking profile.
- Confirm identity with name, age, sex, race, residing city, inmate ID, and booking date/time. Do not rely on a surname alone.
- Review the listed charges as booking or arrest charges. Filed court charges may differ after prosecutor review.
- Use VINELink online or the VINE phone number for custody notifications.
- If the person is missing from the roster, check release, transfer, ODOC, BOP, ICE, court records, and alternate spelling possibilities.
Roster Search Fields
The Choctaw County search is narrower than many statewide databases. It is built around the current jail roster and linked booking profiles. That makes it useful for a fast current-custody check, but it also means there are fewer filters to rescue a misspelled name search.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search by Name | Text | Unspecified | Accepts name text. The page instructs users to search the inmate's name. |
| Result links / inmate names | Linked result item | n/a | Clicking a name opens the public booking profile for that inmate. |
| Page navigation | Pager controls | n/a | The inspected first page displayed a range such as 1 to 16 of the current inmates and included loading/navigation behavior. |
| Advanced filters | Not visible | n/a | No booking-number search, DOB field, facility dropdown, release tab, export, or sort dropdown was visible in the text inspection. |
Open a Booking Profile
A Choctaw County inmate profile is a booking summary. Research samples showed the same field pattern across multiple public profiles: a mugshot, uppercase name, basic demographic fields, local inmate ID, booking date and time, and a plain-language charge list. The profile can help confirm that the right person has been found, but it omits several fields readers often expect.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot | One booking photo on the profile when available. |
| Name | Full uppercase name on the roster and profile. |
| Sex | M or F abbreviation. |
| Race | Race abbreviation as entered on the jail profile. |
| Age | Age in years. |
| Residing City | City listed by the jail profile. |
| Inmate ID | Numeric Choctaw County Jail inmate identifier. |
| Booked | Booking date and time in month/day/year and am/pm format. |
| Charges | Plain-language booking charge list, sometimes including text such as felony in parentheses. |
| More Bookings | Links to other recent booking profiles. |
Inspected profiles did not show bond amounts, bond type, court date, arresting agency, warrant number, housing unit, projected release date, date of birth, height, weight, eye color, hair color, charge statute numbers, or a separate custody-status field. Current custody is implied because the profile is reached from the current inmate roster.
The sample profile image was captured from an official Choctaw County booking profile.
The profile view illustrates the local record boundary: it is strong for booking identity and charge text, but weak for bond, court scheduling, and housing details.
County Roster, ODOC, BOP, and ICE
Choctaw County custody systems split by legal authority. A person arrested locally may appear first on the sheriff's roster. If that person is later convicted and sentenced to state prison, the lookup moves to ODOC. A federal sentence belongs in the BOP locator, and immigration custody belongs in ICE ODLS. VINELink is a notification system, not a replacement for the roster or the court file.
Record boundary: The county roster is for current Choctaw County Jail custody. ODOC, BOP, and ICE are separate systems, and a missing county result can mean release, transfer, different spelling, or a different custody authority.
| Custody or Need | Where to Look | Use It For |
|---|---|---|
| County pretrial or local jail custody | Choctaw County Sheriff's Office roster | Current Choctaw County Jail inmates and booking profiles. |
| Jail question by phone | Sheriff main phone or Jail Administrator line | Custody, roster, mail, visitation, or records-route questions. |
| In-person sheriff records request | Records Division at the sheriff's office | Open-records requests and incident-report copies when releasable. |
| Sentenced Oklahoma prisoner | Oklahoma Department of Corrections offender lookup | State prison custody after transfer from county jail. |
| Federal sentenced prisoner | Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator | Federal custody after sentencing or for federal inmates listed by BOP. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | Immigration custody, separate from county and state criminal rosters. |
| Custody notifications | VINELink Oklahoma or 877-654-8463 | Status alerts and victim notification when available. |
| Sheriff mobile app | No verified current Choctaw County Oklahoma sheriff app | Use the official website roster and VINE instead of an unverified app. |
Choctaw County Jail Facility
The facility list for this project has one local detention facility: Choctaw County Jail. Official research did not identify a separate county annex, regional jail, work-release center, state prison, BOP prison, ICE detention center, or dedicated municipal jail physically located in Choctaw County.

Request Booking Records
When the roster profile is not enough, the Choctaw County Sheriff's Office records division is the official fallback. The sheriff's records page says the records division maintains office records, processes open-records requests, and accepts in-person requests during weekday business hours. It also says crime victims receive one free copy of their incident report when they appear in person and provide acceptable identity verification.
Oklahoma's Open Records Act supports public access to kept law-enforcement records, including certain arrestee descriptions, facts about arrests, warrant dispositions, and jail registers or jail booking information. Release still depends on the record type. Juvenile-confidential information, investigatory limits, court orders, redactions, and subpoena-only reports may affect what the sheriff can provide.
The sheriff's records page did not publish a dedicated records email or a downloadable request form during research. It also cautioned that some reports can be emailed while some can be released only by subpoena. For a booking record request, bring the full name, approximate booking date, and inmate ID if the roster showed one.
The records-request screenshot comes from the official Choctaw County Sheriff's Office records page.
This source matters when a roster entry is missing, incomplete, or no longer online, because the request must go through the office that keeps the underlying sheriff records.
Booking and Intake Records
A typical Choctaw County arrest-to-roster path starts with arrest or transfer to the jail, followed by identity work, property control, booking photograph, charge entry, medical or mental-health screening, classification, and roster publication. The sheriff's jail page confirms medical coverage through a full-time LPN and an on-call physician who visits twice weekly, but it does not publish the exact intake questions, first-call timing, or property-release procedure.
The public record created by intake is visible only after processing and system update. Because the roster is described as updated hourly, a very recent arrest may not appear instantly. Once the profile appears, remember that the charge list is a booking entry. Prosecutors and the court decide what formal charges, if any, are filed later.
Visitation Schedule and Rules
The sheriff's jail page confirms video visitation, phone calls, and mail, but the county pages found during research did not publish a local day-by-day public visitation schedule. The correct county-specific instruction is to call the jail before arrival to confirm current scheduling, visitor rules, and whether the visit is video, remote, attorney, or in-person.
| Visit Type | Published Schedule | Source / Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Choctaw County Jail video visitation | Specific days and times not published in official local pages found | Jail page confirms video visitation. Call (580) 326-2600 Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM. |
| Attorney visits | Not published locally | Do not assume public visit rules apply. Confirm with jail staff. |
| In-person public visits | Not published locally | Confirm schedule, identification needs, and arrival rules before going to the facility. |
Mail, Phone, and Commissary
Choctaw County's mail rules say incoming and outgoing mail is inspected for contraband. Mail may be withheld when it poses a legitimate facility-security threat or involves illegal activity. The commissary FAQ says all mail is scanned and restricts newspapers, magazines, polaroid pictures, and more than three to five photos per letter.
Clothing, shoes, and hygiene items are not accepted as direct deliveries. The jail directs those needs through commissary. Family and friends can contribute to commissary accounts. Money orders may be brought to the jail Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM only or mailed to Choctaw County Sheriff's Office, @Inmate's Name, 305 E Jefferson St., Hugo, OK 74743. The official county pages did not identify an online deposit vendor, phone deposit method, phone-call vendor, or posted local deposit fee.
State, Federal, and Notification Channels
Use the ODOC offender lookup for a person sentenced to Oklahoma state prison after a Choctaw County case. The public ODOC lookup first displays a disclaimer and an Accept button. ODOC information is abbreviated, and its own disclaimer says the agency does not assume legal responsibility for accuracy or completeness. ODOC records are still the correct route once the person has moved from county jail into state prison custody.
Use the BOP inmate locator for federal sentenced prisoners and the ICE Online Detainee Locator System for immigration custody. Neither system is a Choctaw County booking roster, and neither should be expected to show the local jail mugshot profile. Federal pretrial cases may involve court records, U.S. Marshals custody, or contract housing before a person appears in BOP.
Use VINELink Oklahoma for custody-status notifications. The Choctaw County roster page publishes the VINE option and the toll-free number 877-654-8463. VINE can supplement the roster when the concern is notice of release, transfer, or status changes, but it should be checked against the responsible custody agency.
Common Search Problems
If the roster search fails, first clear the search and scan the full current list. Then try alternate name spellings, maiden or prior names if relevant, and partial names. The sheriff page did not publish wildcard rules, so simple spelling variations are safer than assuming advanced search syntax exists.
If the person was recently arrested, wait for booking and the hourly roster update. If the person was released, the current roster may not show them. If they were sentenced, transferred, federally charged, or held for immigration reasons, move to ODOC, BOP, ICE, court records, or VINELink. If the issue is a copy of a booking record or incident report, use the sheriff's records division rather than a third-party background-check site.
Confirm before acting: Verify custody with the Choctaw County Jail before sending money, scheduling a visit, posting bond, or relying on a roster entry for a legal decision.
